Our team was proud to deliver the full masonry package for the Bookends development in Hengrove. The project featured striking glazed blue bricks, which were carefully laid to create a bold and modern façade. We also incorporated a variety of feature panels, adding architectural interest and enhancing the visual appeal of the building.

Description

In addition to the brickwork, we installed the insulation system, Ancon channels, and a robust masonry support system to ensure long-term structural integrity. Our scope also included the provision of forklift drivers, supporting efficient site logistics and material handling throughout the build.


Project : Katherine Lady Berkeley School

The project involves the installation of nearly 500,000 bricks, spread across multiple blocks and elevations, requiring careful sequencing and coordination with other trades.

As a large-scale residential development, the project highlights our capacity to deliver volume brickwork efficiently while meeting programme targets and quality expectations.

We undertook a major refurbishment project in the heart of Bristol city centre, delivering a wide range of complex masonry and structural works. A key element of the project involved infilling 115 parapets, requiring precision and coordination across multiple elevations. Internally, we carried out significant structural alterations, adapting the existing layout to meet new design and usage requirements.

Description

The scope also included the construction of new plant rooms and extensive external masonry repairs, restoring the building’s façade while maintaining its architectural integrity. Our team worked closely with other trades to ensure seamless integration of new and existing elements, delivering a high-quality finish across all aspects of the build.

We were appointed to deliver the full masonry package for the new-build Elm Park Primary School, constructed on a timber frame structure. The project featured a vibrant combination of yellow and blue bricks, carefully selected to reflect the school’s identity and create a welcoming, modern façade.

Description

Our team worked closely with the main contractor to ensure seamless integration of the brickwork with the timber frame, maintaining precision and consistency across all elevations. A number of feature panels were incorporated into the design, adding visual interest and breaking up the façade with contrasting textures and colours


Project : Bassaleg School

We delivered the masonry package for Bassaleg Secondary School with Willmott Dixon, including feature brickwork across multiple blocks. The project ran over 12 months with phased handovers. Key challenges included working on a live school site and coordinating with multiple trades. Our team maintained high standards throughout while meeting programme deadlines


Project : South Bristol Youth Zone

The timescales were tight and there was a lot of media attention on the project which meant that achieving a great finish was crucial. The project involved a feature blockwork wall which was to be turned into a large scale murial as well as a number of lift shafts, external walls and finish brickwork


Project : Mary Hare School

We delivered the full brickwork package for Mary Hare School, a specialist SEN facility for deaf children. The nature of the school introduced unique challenges around site coordination, safeguarding, and noise control, requiring a sensitive and well-managed approach. A key feature of the build was the extensive use of curved brickwork, with large sections constructed on a radius, demanding precision and craftsmanship.

We were engaged to carry out extensive masonry works as part of the refurbishment of the former House of Fraser building in Cwmbran. The project involved a significant number of masonry infills and structural repairs, requiring careful coordination and attention to detail to integrate seamlessly with the existing structure.

Description

A key aspect of the works was the replacement of failing cavity wall ties. We used Helifix remedial ties to stabilise the masonry and restore structural integrity without the need for full wall reconstruction. This approach provided a cost-effective and minimally invasive solution, ensuring long-term durability while preserving the building’s original fabric.

Addison House is one of Cardiff Council’s new state of the art Community Living schemes. The accommodation consists of 44 x 1 or 2 bedroom flats on 5 floors. This project consisted of two types of colour brickwork and contained numerous complex details regarding the fire stopping and balconies.

This was another commercial refurbishment project for a repeat client in Bristol city centre. Like all refurbishment projects the working conditions and general logisitics were challenging. Due to our substainial experience in completing refurbishments projects were we able to produce an excellent final product within the programme.

Location : Newport

Like most commercial projects the programme was aggressive but we were able to lay 72,000 blocks in under 6 weeks to complete this project a week earlier than programmed. The external walls were finished with staffordshire blue bricks and coloured mortar to complete the look
